Grand Prize Winner

I adore my shoes because they're a reminder that even though I’m somebody’smom now, I've still got "it" and it's okay to get glammed up. I used to be glamorous and collect stiletto heels and tiny little dresses. Then I had my daughter and started wearing ballet flats and baseball caps while ferrying my kid to and from school. Looking at photos from a couple of years ago, I felt disconnected from my previous life as a hot chick. But recently while shopping with my daughter, a flash of gold caught my eye. A closer look showed that it was a pair of glittery gold peep toes with a 5 inch heel. In my size. I put them on and started strutting around the store. My daughter said, "Mom, you look hot." I looked at the price and saw that the shoes were not only my size, they were also on sale. "Perhaps it’s fate." I said to my daughter while giddily paying for the shoes. I adore my new shoes because they remind me that my glamour never went anywhere, I can incorporate fierceness into my new life as a mom. Now if I can just get the gold stilettos away from my kid who models them around the house...T.

Love the part about your previous life as a "hot chick" - as a mom, I too, know what you mean! Congratulations!
